Literature circles 3

The first time I read hatchet, the boy called Brian was really a frightened boy. He was very unpleasant and didn't really think about good things. All he thought about was his parents divorcing. I really didn't like him because he was always negative. He didn't even think about things that were positive. This is how he reacted at the first chapters. Later, he remembered about what Perpich had said to him. "Always be positive." That one sentence made Brian stand up and gather food in order to survive. He slowly began to erase the thought about his father and mother. He concetrated on survivng and living. He began to think deeply. When animals came in his shelter, first he attacked one of them, but then he thought that he shouldn't hurt animals without reasons. So he just calmly waited for the animal to go or nod and smile to not let them suspect him. Also, a long time ago, when he arrived the island, he just thought that it wasn't a pleasant site. Later in the chapters, he sat down and also said he watched the beautiful scenery. His thoughts had changed. Before, he was a negative boy but now he was a positive thinking boy. That was how he change through out the chapters like how Mafatu did. Once he was a boy who was afraid of the sea, but now, he was a brave, courageous boy. That is how Brian changed like Mafatu.

Literature circles 2

My group was probably the one who loved to talk. We did a little chat about the Hatchet and mostly everyone's answer was that their favortie part was when Brian found raspberries and their least favorite part was when Brian ate turtle eggs, or their mother kissing another man. I hated the part when when he vomited and had bad diarrhea, and also when Brian's mother was with another man. I loved the part when Brian found out how to make fire. The discussion questions were great but it was kind of hard to hear :P Also, it went great. I liked Jane's question because it did challenge us to answer. I think everyone is doing a very good job in the discussion. We did talk about our opinions towards the book but since I've already read the book I could really say my opinions. We talked about everything we needed to do like the pages we chose, the questions, the vocabulary, and opinions! :D

The literature circles!!!

I had a group with Jane, Lennox, Sara and Devashish. We were all reading Hatchet which was about a boy called Brian whose parents were divorced. He was boarding on a bush-plane but suddenly the pilot had a heart attack and Brian was alone. Lennox talked about the part he liked and that part was when the pilot had an heart attack. We asked him why and he answered "It was the best part of this chapter because the others were boring!" That did make sense. The pages before were only about Brian thinking about the word divorce. All of us agreed that their favorite part was that part too and also their least favorite was when Brian was thinking about the word divorce. Later, we asked questions. I liked Sara's question which was What would have happened if the radio worked? I answered that he would have been saved by the people and since that was his only hope, he would have been not alone. Rest of the questions were the same as the others. I liked my question which was What would have happened if Brian landed in the ocean instead of an island? Everyone answered that he would have died there being alone. I thought differently. I answered that he could have survived eating some food in his bag and if he had found a fishing pole, he would have been able to fish. After the questions, we shared each other's words that we didn't know. Overall the discussion was fine. if we hadn't laughed toomuch we would have finished it faster. :D

COURAGE!~

It was a long time ago that I found that I could do something that I never knew. When I was young, I loved to scribble on papers and make cool pictures of pokemon characters. I always asked my mom to draw me a woname with a dress and I colored what she drew with a pencil. Then, when I was about 2nd grade, I started to draw things that I have never drawn before. For example, like people who are facing the sideways, animals like deers(which is my favorite), cats, dogs, birds, flowers etc, like these! All I had to do was draw a line and start with it. If I didn't like it at all, I would erase it. I simply loved drawing real things which is meant my having shades in my drawing, values like these. I never knew I could draw this far with just with my hand. I though I had no interest in art, but now my favorite hobby is... Art! Crafting, designing, sketching is what I enjoy. It changed me to be full of ideas in my head. For example, before writing, you must decide what to write right? It helps me to do those kinds of stuff and it makes me have a lot of interesting ideas everytime. It changed me like that. In art you have to be creative. That is the reason it chaged me into a wide minded person. I should thank to my mom and dad for this gift! I always draw what I desire and it makes me feel so comfortable! That is why I am cheerful!~

Social Scientist

I would like to be an Archaeologist. Being an archaeologist is a hard work to do because you need to find an old ancient place and you will need to observe about that place then find things that have been left along time ago. Like egypt. Once the archaeologist found the sphinx and the pyramid, they started to go inside and find the left remains of a pharoah and some old trasures there. This is part of what an archaeologist does. For me, I love to do those kinds of activities. Going outdoors and observing things are my favorite subjects. I really love to dig up and find old things that were left in ancient times. This is my favorite social scientist!
